It is my honor to continue serving on the Peninsula School Board. Four years ago, I prioritized hiring a highly qualified superintendent and developing a strategic plan focused on increasing student achievement. I am proud to have delivered on these goals and more.
Our community-driven strategic plan aspires to inspire and empower every child by focusing on academic excellence, innovation, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement in a safe learning environment.
We secured grants to increase elementary science, technology, math, and arts programs, three of which received state and national recognition. We implemented transitional kindergarten at four sites, doubling PSD's early learning opportunities.
Under my leadership, we launched the Navel JROTC program that prioritizes community service and positive citizenship for over 100 student leaders. We built a coalition of school districts to help pass legislation in support of military-connected students in PSD and throughout Washington. I am eager to continue this work, focusing on creating additional graduation pathways, enhancing district safety programs, targeting efforts to boost literacy and academic achievement, improving communications, increasing community partnership opportunities, and continuing legislative advocacy for local control and funding. Thank you for your continued support as a neighbor and partner in education.
