* Budgeting security efforts against break-ins and vandalism
I believe our park system speaks to the quality of our community and that parks should provide opportunities to interact with nature. I think parks and conservation efforts go hand-in-hand. Future park growth accounts for water access, multi-use opportunities, and options for community members of all ages. Most importantly, I believe enjoying parks should be safe.
That is why I am asking for your vote.
My Pledge:
Our parks system is a direct reflection of the work/life balanced community for which we all yearn in Gig Harbor. Parks in our community should be plentiful as they represent our active outdoor lives. Our parks should be natural, ensuring a balance between recreation and conservation as we practice stewardship of our natural treasures. We should ensure access and fair use as we all enjoy our recreation in our way. Our parks experiences should be memorable for all the right reasons, be they growth through youth sports, the wonderment of experiencing our trails, beaches, and creeks, or stepping out onto the waters of the south Salish Sea.
As your park commissioner, I will be your advocate for conservation and stewardship in our growth and maintenance projects. i will strive to ensure that our parks are safe to you and your property, and be a champion for budgeting security efforts against break-ins or vandalism. I will be an advocate for representing the voice of the community when it comes to right-sizing our parks, programs, and our budget.
I am asking for an opportunity to earn your trust and represent a shared vision for beautiful, natural, and safe parks in our community.
